Interpret the Dream to Clarify the Vision - Rabbi Brian Bileci

DREAM – Chalom  -  a revelation given while asleep - NEEDS INTERPRETATION

VISION – Chazon -  a revelation given while awake - NEEDS CLARIFICATION

28 “And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall DREAM DREAMS, your young men shall SEE VISIONS. 29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants. I will pour out My Spirit in those days. - Joel 2:28-29 (NKJV)

  1. OLDER [AND WISER] MEN are DETERMINED to see DREAMS in the FUTURE come to pass

  2. YOUNG [AND CHOSEN] MEN are ZEALOUS with VISION for the FUTURE to be fulfilled

After all of this I will pour out my Spirit on all kinds of people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your elderly will have revelatory dreams; your young men will see prophetic visions. –  Joel 2:28 (NET)

Then in those days I will pour My Spirit to all humanity; your children will boldly and prophetically speak the word of God. Your elders will dream dreams; your young warriors will see visions. - Joel 2:28 (VOICE)

  1. DREAM-DOUBTERS - those who question your potential to disqualify your dream

  2. DREAM-DOWNERS - those who belittle your belief and talk-down your dream

  3. DREAM-DESTROYERS - those who strip you of your promise so that they kill your dream

3Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age. Also he made him a tunic of many colors. 4 But when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, THEY HATED HIM and could not speak peaceably to him. 5 Now Joseph had a DREAM, and he told it to his brothers; and THEY HATED HIM EVEN MORE. 6 So he said to them, “Please hear this DREAM which I have DREAMED…8…So they hated him even more for his DREAMS and for his words. – Genesis 37:3-6,8 (NKJV)

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. DREAM. Discover.” ~ Mark Twain

“To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also DREAM; not only plan, but also believe.” ~ Anatole France

“No DREAMER is ever too small; no DREAM is ever too big.” – Anonymous

“Every great DREAM begins with a DREAMER. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” ~ Harriet Tubman

A DREAM without VISION becomes only a PIPE-DREAM that declines into a NIGHTMARE!

5  I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts on my bed and the visions of my head troubled me. 6 Therefore I issued a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known to me the interpretation of the dream. - Daniel 4:5-6 (NKJV)

Write the vision and make it plain [or clear, engraved] on tablets, that he [messenger] may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

– Habakkuk 2:2-3 (NLT)

6 Therefore I [Nebuchadnezzar] issued a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known to me the interpretation of the dream. - Daniel 4:6 (NKJV)

DREAM: a series of thoughts, images, and emotions occurring in a person’s mind during sleep; or a state of mind in which someone is, or seems to be, unaware of their immediate surroundings, as they imagine future desire or goals.

When there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint [KJV: “perish”], but the one who keeps the law [or the Torah], blessed is he! – Proverbs 29:18 (NET)

14 “For God speaks again and again, 15 in dreams, in visions of the night when deep sleep falls on men as they lie on their beds. 16 He opens their ears in times like that and gives them wisdom and instruction, 17 causing them to change their minds, and keeping them from pride, and warning them of the penalties of sin, 18 and keeping them from falling into some trap. – Job 33:14-18 (NLT)

If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what He reveals, they are most blessed. – Proverbs 29:18 (MSG)

Dreams come in STAGES, but VISION comes in STEPS
