The other day, I was checking out at the grocery store and placing all of my items on the conveyor belt. I was about halfway through, when the person behind me began to put their items on the belt as well. As the belt moved forward, their food moved right along with it. Before I knew it, there was no room left for the fifteen items I had left in my cart! Seriously? The person behind me was in such a hurry, they did not even take a moment to see what my status was before they started to place their things down. Let me just say, in that moment I had to remind myself that I was a Christian. My flesh definitely wanted to react in frustration! Needless to say, my patience was tested. Not only was my patience tested, but I was reminded how impatient our society is today.

Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised. - Hebrews 10:36 (NLT)

Patience is becoming less common in today’s world because not many things require patience. Everything is available to us so quickly. Fast food, smartphones, on demand television, and lots of other things. Therefore, we don’t have to exercise our patience muscle very often. However, God does not operate in our time and His promises often require patience. We cannot be conformed to the impatient patterns of this world, we need to be transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2)! We need to reposition ourselves to a place of patience.

Patience helps us pass the tests of abandonment, affection, accusation, and accountability. It's a prerequisite to reaching the dreams God has placed inside of us! Joseph had to wait thirteen years before his dream became reality. "Passionate patience” is exactly what is necessary on this journey of faith! No matter what trials you're facing today. No mater who is against you. No matter how many times you fail along the way, keep that passion of faith and endurance! Press into God’s presence and He will grant you the patience you need! You can do it! Don’t grow weary, you will receive the reward. May the Lord empower you with the ability to be patient with yourself and with others.
