Have you ever been frustrated? Well, if you’re human, I am sure the answer is yes! I recently had one of those days containing many frustrating moments, including me having to leave work because it was suspected that my baby boy possibly had pink eye. So I had to throw some last minute substitute plans together for my classroom, go pick him up and head to the doctors office. Then we waited three hours before the doctor could see us! In addition to that, I had many small hiccups throughout the day. Have you been there before? I found it astonishing how quickly my mind started to focus on all of the unplanned and inconvenient circumstances rather than God’s goodness.
Frustration is something that is knocking at our door daily. It has the potential to create a hardened heart within us, if we allow it to. It can hinder our ability to see God’s goodness and our understanding of who He is, and then what He wants to do. When we are faced with frustration, it could easily lead us down a path of anger or anxiety. It's in these moments, we need to stop and choose to fix our focus on the Father again.
The moment that we notice ourselves being blinded to God’s goodness, that’s the moment we need to stop to remind ourselves of His truth and restart our heart. This past Thursday, pastor Lissette gave us some great strategies of how to do that! We should remember His love, reinstate our sonship, and recall eternity. If we continue to get to know these strategies, we will have the tools to help us succeed in those moments of a hardened heart. Ladies, check your heart and allow the Holy Spirit in so He can do His job of leading your life in God’s love!
