There's More To It

There have been plenty of times where I've bought something new but not fully learned all that it's capable of doing. It could be a new cellphone, a new DVD player, a new coffee machine, and so on, there's also these hidden capabilities that I can't seem to notice after a few uses. Sometimes it's months later that I discover new features and new settings that can actually make the device that much more efficient. Thankfully, there's instructions that will lay out everything about the device, I just have to be willing to take the time to read them.

This past week at Flawless we were blessed with a surprise visit from our senior pastor, pastor Obed. He gave insight to how each of us have been sealed with promise of the Holy Spirit, and because of His promise we are able to live life with a believing heart. This means that when life throws challenges our way, which we know it will, we can face them head on with belief in the love and grace of our Heavenly Father.

One of his more memorable moments was when he said, "The Holy Spirit is more valuable than what He can do for us. He wants us to know who He is!" There's so many that look to God only for the things He can do. But there's so much more to God than just His ability. Yes He's powerful, yes He's strong, yes He heals and delivers and so much more. But all of His ability springs forth from His attributes, what identifies Him as God.

Sometimes we have ask ourselves some tough questions. What things in our lives have we gotten satisfied with? What lids of limitation have we allowed to become normal in our walks with Jesus? Has church become routine, has bible reading become a burden? If so, there may be some things that I need to start talking to God about or even start opening up to my life group about.

The reality is, when we're walking with the Holy Spirit, we're constantly being guided and being redirected towards Jesus. That process changes us. His job is to continually reveal more of who He is and then in turn, more of who we are meant to be. There's so much more to this walk with Jesus, and I believe if we keep approaching every day with a believing heart, we'll see new things about our Savior and eventually become more and more like Him in everything that we do!
